Gardening has now been put back to the weekends, which are still busy times for us. Although, hubby has managed to get most of it dug up there is still about 5% to do and then the fence, and soil preparation and finally the seeds.
Miles has already planted some vegetables in a polystyrene box, he is very proud of the little plants that have grown. Already I can see 4 pea plants and a lot of brocs, bak choy and a few other greens in there. When they get bigger, they will be planted in the garden beds. We might do another box this weekend or next, so that the vegetables are on going. Will try and take a photo of his plants tomorrow and post them up.

Starting a fresh
Well the garden has been laying bare for some time now. I cannot remember when we had something in there, but I am sure it was before summer hit us.
So, since it is getting cooler, and we like cabbage, broccoli and other vegetables, it was about time that we started getting the garden ready for produce.
There is still a lot of work to do. We have 4 hens, and they killed everything we had in our garden this past summer, so a fence needs to go up before any planting can take place. Weeds need to be removed. Rubble from the previous owners needs to be moved and then we can have a nice clean area to work in and not worry about snakes or other nasties hiding in there.
This is a family effort, with the kids taking an active (and sometimes they are in the way) role in getting the garden ready. They are happy to be outside and helping their father work in getting the weeds out of the garden bed.
